Recently, Guangzhou Ruicheng Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd.'s core R&D achievement—an air-cooled direct expansion ice storage integrated unit—completed full-condition testing and officially achieved standardized mass production. This equipment was developed by a team led by Dr. Dong Xingjie, co-founder of the company and a professor of refrigeration and cryogenic engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Drawing on the team's nearly 30 years of practical experience in large-scale national ice storage projects, it overcomes industry pain points such as complex design, long construction cycles, and insufficient energy efficiency in traditional ice storage air conditioning systems.

Dr. Dong Xingjie has led or participated in over 100 large-scale ice storage air conditioning projects across the country since the beginning of his career. He has published over 30 academic papers in the industry and holds over 40 authorized patents related to refrigeration. His profound theoretical and engineering experience lays the foundation for this product innovation. Traditional ice storage systems are only suitable for large industrial parks and commercial complexes. Their cumbersome piping and electrical control designs make them difficult to implement in small and medium-sized factories, office buildings, and laboratories. Ruicheng Innovation adopts an integrated structure, prefabricating and packaging the entire ice storage system in the factory. Customers only need to complete the water and electricity connections on-site, achieving true plug-and-play functionality.

The equipment features a unique diurnal temperature range enhancement technology, fully utilizing the low nighttime temperatures to improve ice-making efficiency. Under normal operating conditions in the subtropical region of South China, the unit's energy efficiency is comparable to traditional large-scale ice storage equipment; when operating in areas with greater diurnal temperature ranges, the overall COP energy efficiency is more than 20% higher than that of conventional models in the industry. It also adopts a modular design, allowing individual units to be used independently, while multiple units can be connected in parallel for capacity expansion. Customers can configure the system in stages according to their cooling load, significantly reducing initial investment costs.

Leveraging the national peak-valley electricity pricing policy for energy storage, Ruicheng's ice storage equipment employs a nighttime off-peak electricity ice-making and daytime ice-melting cooling operation logic, helping enterprises reduce air conditioning operating electricity costs by over 50%, balancing the social responsibility of the power grid in peak shaving and valley filling with customers' cost reduction needs. The R&D team will next continue to optimize the intelligent control system, improve the four-stage fully automatic peak-valley scheduling logic, and further expand its adaptability to specific scenarios such as industry, biomedicine, and precision laboratories.
